College Guidance
College and career counseling go hand-in-hand with the testing program. In the freshman year, each student takes the National Educational Development Test (NEDT); a set of five achievement tests, which give the college counselor information about scholastic areas of strength and weakness. In the fall of the sophomore year, students take the EXPLORE exam. As juniors, students take the Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test (PSAT), which determines National Merit Scholar status and provides practice for the SAT. As juniors and early in the senior year, students take the SAT and ACT tests.
Students are invited to meet with Ms. Debby Bernstein, the College Counselor, at their convenience, beginning with their freshman year. Students and parents are also welcome to tap the resources of the College Counseling Center.
