This month's Caw & Response catches up with Ryan Riley '15, now living in Malmö, Sweden, fresh off earning her Master's from Lund University. Read on for her thoughts on friendship, favorite memories, and the advice she'd give her 16-year-old self.

What are the three values you treasure most in a friendship?
Curiosity, respect, confidence.

If you could live in a different country for a year, which country would you choose?
Can I say Sweden, even though I already live here?

Name five things that make you happy:
Being in or on a body of water, baking something delicious, when my favorite sports teams do well, naps, and spending time with loved ones.

What piece of advice would you give your 16-year-old self?
Nurture friendships and relationships that are important to you! don't give up on them. Also, it is okay to not be right all the time. I promise.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
One Direction at the Rose Bowl in 2014, with 5 Seconds of Summer as the opener!

What Forest Ridge memory sticks out to you the most?
Recently, I've found myself thinking a lot about the time spent in the lounge with my class, the conversations we would have during lunch or the studying during breaks. I appreciated the casual affection and camaraderie between us.

What teacher inspired you the most? How?
Mr. Fierce in 8th grade and Mr. Segal in 9th, both helped me discover and foster my love for the social sciences.

If you are outside, what are you most likely doing?
Going on a day trip around skåne, going for a swim in the sea, or cycling around Malmö
