Kendee Yamaguchi ’95, Deputy Assistant Secretary for the US Field at the International Trade Administration

Kendee Yamaguchi ’95 is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for the US Field at the International Trade Administration, appointed by President Biden. She oversees 300 trade professionals in 100+ US cities and helps businesses export their goods and services. Kendee also attracts foreign direct investment to grow jobs in the U.S.

She has more than 20 years in executive management working with local, state and national governmental leaders, businesses and investors across the globe to promote job creation, public investment and cultural diversity. 

Kendee served as the Deputy Mayor of Seattle and served Washington as the Assistant Director of Department of Commerce and as Assistant Attorney General. She was a delegate on many trade missions to Asia, Europe, Middle East and the Americas.

Kendee went to American University for her undergraduate degree and Seattle University for her law degree.
