Happy Holidays, everyone!
We at the Performing Arts Department are joyfully working on live performances again. Last week HS Drama kicked off the season with an extraordinary and moving performance of the play ‘These Shining Lives". Lines were learned, sets were built, characters were explored and the result was art that was beautiful.
Kudos to our brand new HS Drama Director, Sara Dunlop-Bogan, and the cast of this lovely show! This week starts tech week for our MS actors. The 5th and 6th-grade actors will perform “They Eat Sunshine not Zebras” and the 7th and 8th-grade actors will perform “Hoodie”. As I write sets are up, costumes are ready and actors are putting the finishing touches on their work which they will perform on December 10th and 11th. (Check Post It for performance times and ticket info!).
Our musicians are also getting ready for their holiday offerings! Our traditional High School Holiday concert is next Tuesday, December 7th at 7 p.m. in the Chapel. Glee and Chamber are so happy to be able to sing in person again, that they are singing to me in the halls of the high school! The intrepid Chamber choir has chosen to perform their December 12th at 5 p.m. concert outside so that they can sign without masks( per Covid guidelines – masks are not required outside!)! We have gotten sweatshirts, scarves and hats and are ready no matter what the weather brings!
We hope that all in our community will come to some of these gifts of art as we celebrate our creativity and express our joy in performing together after so long being apart!
