Ring Ceremony 2026

Since 1940, Ring Ceremony has marked the passing of the torch from one class to the next, and there is nothing quite like it. Each senior selects a junior to receive her Sacred Heart ring and calls her forward by name, a secret kept until that very instant. That moment, a name spoken, a ring exchanged, carries the full weight of what it means to belong to this community.

This year's afternoon ceremony was a testament to the grace and generosity of our graduating seniors. One by one, the Class of 2026 turned their rings outward and extended that honor to their chosen juniors, passing down not just a piece of jewelry but a sense of responsibility, of belonging, and of what it means to lead with purpose at a Sacred Heart school. Assistant Director of Alumni and Community Engagement Louisa Haslam '15, who experienced the ceremony herself as a student, noted the energy in the room: "There was an abundance of excitement and camaraderie between the Juniors and the Seniors." Seeing it now from the other side, she added, "I am so excited for the Class of 2026 to share their Sacred Heart education with the world, shown through angling their rings out towards the world."

The afternoon also included the presentation of the Inspiration Award, given to a student who embodies the spirit of the Sacred Heart mission through her character and commitment to something greater than herself. This year's recipient was YiTing H. '27. Congratulations, YiTing!

As the Class of 2027 steps into their new role, they carry with them the legacy of every class that came before, and the bright expectation of all that is still to come. Ring Ceremony is not an ending. It is a beginning, repeated year after year, in an unbroken circle.
