The College Counseling Season: An Update From Director of College Counseling, Nikki Danos
Nikki Danos, Director of College Counseling

What a busy fall it has been so far! We’ve welcomed 80+ college admissions counselors to campus to chat with our juniors and seniors, and there are still another handful of college visits in early November. These schools range from highly specialized art schools to polytechnic institutes to universities in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, all of our seniors attended the 10th Annual College Application Workshop, spanning two days at the start of the year.

All Upper School students were invited to attend College 101, a five-week themed series on various topics including Liberal arts vs. research university: Which one is right for me? and How and when should I choose a college major? Each session was led by an admissions counselor and offered at a time when student’s don’t have class.

Finally, I have been talking with college admissions counselors about the new upper school Mod Schedule, and they are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for our students who will be able to delve deeply into three and a half courses at a time.
