A Concert-Themed Congé
A Concert-Themed Congé
Our awesome ASB, alongside Dean of Students, Meg Shortell, recently hosted our annual Congé, Conge-palooza. This spirited event brought together students and faculty for a full day of community, music, and fun!
The day began with regular morning classes, but following our Dance Fest performance, the ASB did a dance of their own, announcing at the end that the day was cancelled and Congé was underway! Students were divided into grade-level groups to receive festival gear and instructions before embarking on an array of activities that ran through the afternoon.
There was vinyl and canvas decorating, karaoke, and Just Dance sessions. A Chill Zone in the library provided a quiet space with puzzles, word searches, and coloring sheets. Additionally, the Boy Band Pose Competition had us posing for Polaroid photos and creating unique band names.
We also had a special dance class led by alum, Lilly M. '24, where students learned the choreography to the same song to perform all together at the end of the day.
The grand finale of Congé was a live concert featuring Skylar S. '26 as our opener and a headline performance by musical group Sway. The music brought everyone together to sing and dance.
Congé continues to be a school favorite, fostering memories that will resonate well beyond Forest Ridge.
