Egg Drops in 8th Grade Science
Egg Drops in 8th Grade Science
8th grade students have spent the month designing and testing their egg drop contraptions in science class. The goal of this experiment and project is for students to apply their knowledge of Newton's Laws of Motion to design a capsule that will safely return an egg "astronaut" home from orbit.
Students have been dropping their "protected" eggs from different heights to see if their egg would survive the fall. We had a few casualties, but many successful attempts. Over the month, these budding engineers have honed their skills, embraced setbacks, and pushed the boundaries of creativity and scientific inquiry.
