Upper School STEM Fair

Upper School STEM Fair

This month, the Upper School hosted its annual STEM Fair on Wednesday, March 13. We had 59 students presenting 46 projects to 17 judges. These projects showcased independent work that students completed in their science classes or in their own time. Students chose topics related to their science courses and developed experiments to test a unique research question. Topics ranged from testing how listening to music affects concentration to investigating the chemistry of cosmetics.

These projects support students as they develop science and engineering practices, such as asking questions, planning investigations, analyzing and interpreting data, and constructing explanations. Six students will be competing in the upcoming Washington State Science and Engineering Fair in Bremerton on April 6.
