For Forest Ridge graduates, college is the next step in a life filled with many new chapters.

As a college preparatory school, the entire Forest Ridge community works together to provide our students with the guidance and support they need to find success in college and beyond.

Our exceptional Director of College Counseling provides every Forest Ridge student the highly individualized coaching that larger independent schools cannot offer.

100% of Forest Ridge students are admitted to four-year colleges and universities. Our college matriculation snapshot reveals the diversity of schools our alumnae attend across the country and around the world.

What makes college counseling at Forest Ridge unique?

Over 12 touch points throughout the 11th and 12th grades, including both individual and group meetings, prepare our students for the often-daunting journey of college admission. Our college counseling program includes:

Individual Coaching

We partner with each student and their parents carefully, intentionally and individually. From helping to select a college list, to crafting essays, to submitting applications, to assisting families with the financial aid process, we are there each step of the way with expertise and support.

College 101 Workshop Series

Each fall, this six-week, workshop series is open to all high school students. College admission representatives host the weekly session and help students understand the nuances of the college search and application process.

College Application Workshops

Seniors start their school year with a two-day application workshop led by our Director of College Counselling, Nikki Danos. Students learn application best-practices and are guided to put their best foot forward as they complete their applications. Application and essay workshops are also provided throughout the fall as seniors complete their college applications.

College Representative Ambassador Program

Forest Ridge welcomes 100 college admissions representatives each fall. Seniors may host these representatives during their visit. This serves as an excellent opportunity for our students to develop a relationship with the person who will likely read her college application in the winter.

Member of the Seattle Area Independent Schools (SAIS) Group

The SAIS group is formed of eight independent schools in the greater Seattle area. Our students can attend an exclusive college fair open only to members of the SAIS group.
