How to Apply

Welcome to the admission process at Forest Ridge. The Forest Ridge Admission team is here to partner with you throughout the application process.

As an independent middle and upper school, Forest Ridge serves students in 5^th through 12^th grades, with our most common entry points being the 5^th, 6^th and 9^th grades. Applicants are also welcome to apply for 7^th, 8^th and 10^th grades, though we cannot guarantee space in those grades. We are committed to a holistic review of all applications, taking into account the vast array of information provided in each student's application.

The application for the 2025-2026 school year is open. Applications for the 2025-2026 school year are due January 16.

To begin your daughter’s application, please click here to to apply online. We use an online application through Ravenna®, a platform that many Seattle-area independent schools utilize in their admission process. Once you create your family Ravenna account, you will be able to check the status of your daughter’s application(s), upload documents, arrange for forms to be sent from your daughter’s current school and register for events.

Student Visit Day

Join us on campus for a sample of the Forest Ridge experience. Prospective students will spend the day at Forest Ridge, attending classes, meeting current students and touring campus. Parents have the opportunity to tour campus.

Our student visit days offer an excellent way for your daughter to experience a day at Forest Ridge, and to learn more about our program and community.

Our student visit days are on October 23, November 13, December 11, January 8, and February 5.

Interview

Standardized Test Score

Standardized testing is one piece of the application, which is reviewed holistically. Forest Ridge is happy to accept scores from any of the following exams that were taken in the past 12 months: MAP, SBA, SSAT, ISEE, or HSPT (please see below for more details about each exam type). In order for us to receive scores on time, we recommend that testing be completed by January 5.

MAP or SBA (Smarter Balanced Assessment): Completed at all local public schools and many independent/Catholic schools.
SSAT: At-home (for grades 6 and up) or in-person testing available. Forest Ridge will host the SSAT for applicants on December 14, 2024. Please see Ravenna for registration details and the access code. Fee waiver for registration available upon request (see details here). Our SSAT school code is 3205.
ISEE: At-home or in-person testing available. Our ISEE school code is 481691.
HSPT: Only available for upper school applicants. Offered at local Catholic schools. Please contact them directly for registration information.

If you plan to take the SSAT or ISEE, we recommend registering as soon as possible, as seats fill up quickly. There are several options for where and how to take these tests. Any method or location is acceptable, as long as the official results are sent to Forest Ridge.

We invite your family to attend our Open House on December 4 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. to explore our offerings and meet members of the Forest Ridge community.

Applying for Financial Aid

Forest Ridge uses the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need. Clarity offers a streamlined application process that takes less than thirty minutes to complete on a mobile phone, tablet, or desktop computer. Each family’s 2023 tax forms (the 1040 and W2) will transfer automatically from the IRS. Additional documents may be required.

Financial aid applications are due by December 31, 2024 for current families and January 16, 2025 for new families.

Though they are separate, financial aid awards will be communicated concurrently with our admission decision. Any financial aid awards will be included on enrollment contracts for accepted students.
