26-27 Summer Resources & Reading Lists

Welcome (almost!) to the 2026–2027 school year! Whether your family is returning to campus or joining our community for the first time, we are so glad you are here.

As we look ahead to next year, I continue to feel deeply grateful to be part of a community that cares so intentionally about students and their growth. At Forest Ridge, we believe schools should be places where students are known, challenged, supported, and inspired to grow into thoughtful, confident leaders. Across both Middle and Upper School, our faculty and staff are already preparing for a year filled with meaningful learning, deep connection, joyful moments, and new opportunities for discovery.

We are excited to share this year’s Summer Resource Page, which includes important dates, forms, schedules, and information to help your family prepare for the year ahead. We encourage you to bookmark the page and return to it throughout the summer as new information is added.

Sincerely,

Stephany Fontanone
Director of Middle & Upper School

Important Dates, Info, and Schedules

Transportation

Preparations for the 2026-2027 school year are well underway, and as part of that planning process, we want to make sure our transportation offerings and program truly reflect the needs of our families. Your input is an important piece of that puzzle, and we'd so appreciate you taking a few minutes to fill out our annual survey below. Even if your student did not ride a Forest Ridge bus this year, we appreciate your input!

Transportation Survey

Please note: This survey is not your official registration. Forest Ridge Transportation registration will open in early August. Keep an eye out for more details this summer.

If you have any questions, please reach out to transportation@forestridge.org.

Student Device Program for 2026–2027

Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, Forest Ridge will transition toward a student-owned device program. As part of this transition, students entering 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th, and 10th grades next year will need to purchase a new approved device for use at school.

This shift supports a more seamless and collaborative learning experience while helping students take greater responsibility for the tools they use each day. In alignment with Goal 5, it reflects our commitment to thoughtful stewardship, independence, and preparation for life beyond Forest Ridge.

All students are required to use a Microsoft Surface Pro with a keyboard, stylus, and USB-C or Bluetooth headphones/earbuds. A multi-year accidental damage warranty, covering spills and drops, is also required to help minimize learning interruptions.

A protective case for the Surface Pro is recommended and may be purchased online or through the Spirit Store.

Please note: the Surface Laptop is not an approved device.

Minimum Specifications:

  • Intel Core i5/Ultra 5 or Snapdragon X Plus

  • 16GB RAM

  • 256GB SSD

Purchase options are available directly through Microsoft.

For questions about device specifications or the student-owned device program, please contact Charles Du, Director of Technology, at cdu@forestridge.org

Student Records

Families new to Forest Ridge, please check with your current school to ensure your student’s finalized 2025-2026 academic records are sent to registrar@forestridge.org by Tuesday, June 30.

Summer Reading

Summer reading and assignments are designated by grade level and are required for all students. As research has shown, the most effective time a student can spend in the summer to maintain her learning is to read daily – even if it’s for just 15-20 minutes.

School Supplies

5th-8th grade supply lists can be found below.

Any supplies needed for 10th-12th grade courses will be communicated on the first day of class. Please bring your favorite pen or pencil to school with you on the first day.

Learning Needs Form

Students with any diagnosed learning differences or other learning needs should submit the following form to admission@forestridge.org or drop it off at the front desk.

Home Language Surveys

This form is required for all new students to fill out for their home language, including English. This form is available in other languages upon request. Once complete, please submit the form to admission@forestridge.org or drop it off at the front desk.

Uniforms

Uniforms are an integral part of who we are as a Sacred Heart community. This uniform policy may be adapted as needed throughout the year.

Back-to-School Forms

Back-to-School Forms

All forms are due August 1, 2026

New Families: You will receive access to the Magnus Health Portal on July 1. You will receive an automated email with login details, as well as a separate email from the Transportation and Safety Coordinator (cdyson@forestridge.org) outlining health form requirements and next steps. Emails will be sent to the parent/guardian email address(es) on file with Forest Ridge.

Current Families: You will need to review and update your student’s profile through your existing Magnus Health Portal account. You can begin updating your student’s profile for the 2026-2027 school year starting July 1. You will receive an email from the Transportation and Safety Coordinator (cdyson@forestridge.org) outlining requirements for the 2026-2027 school year.

All families must complete their student’s Magnus Health file and submit required forms by August 1. The Magnus system will prompt you with any necessary documents for your doctor to sign. To ensure you are prepared for the school year, we recommend scheduling a doctor’s appointment this summer if any of the following apply to your daughter:

  • Will play a sport: A Sports Physical is required.
  • Requires prescription or over-the-counter medication at school or on field trips: An Authorization for Medication form is required.
  • Has an inhaler, allergy, EpiPen, seizure condition, or other life-threatening condition: In addition to the Authorization for Medication form, an Action Plan is required.

Before a student may attend school, the family must provide a Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) form. This form shows the child’s vaccinations or proof of immunity to disease.

For questions on Magnus or back to school forms, please reach out to Christina Dyson at cdyson@forestridge.org.
