Matching Gifts

Corporate matching is a type of philanthropy in which companies financially match contributions that their employees made to nonprofit organizations.

When an employee makes a philanthropic gift, the donor will request a matching gift from their employer, who then makes their own contribution. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio.

The Forest Ridge Fund is our largest revenue source after tuition. It is essential to the School’s success, supporting general operations, allowing us to stay mission-focused and react as needed to our ever-changing environment. Gifts to the Forest Ridge Fund benefit every student by supporting academic programs, athletics, the arts, financial aid, and faculty professional development. These are unrestricted dollars which go directly to supporting the school's operating budget.

Knowing that philanthropic support is critical to the success of independent schools, we ask that the entire community- trustees, parents, alumnae, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends - support Forest Ridge in a shared commitment to our remarkable students. Gifts of leadership and resources collectively make a significant impact in the student experience. 

Tuition at Forest Ridge is considerable, but only covers part of the cost of educating a student. Just as all independent schools do, Forest Ridge relies on annual gifts to make up this difference. 

Forest Ridge strives for 100% family participation in the Forest Ridge Fund. Each year, faculty, staff and trustees pledge their support in the early days of the drive. This universal commitment to our school and our dedication to students is a strong statement about the strength of our community. Grandparents, alumni and friends also play a meaningful role in the success of the Forest Ridge Fund.

It’s still possible that your employer will match your gift to Forest Ridge, even if you didn’t find your organization on our list. Check with your company’s HR manager and ask if your contribution can be matched.

Yes, it’s not too late to apply for matching funds! Many organizations allow employees to submit match requests for one year following the date of the philanthropic contribution.

Gifts to Forest Ridge for 2026-2027 are accepted between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027. Pledges can be paid anytime before June 30, 2027. 

Our Forest Ridge Fund participation drive runs through October 5, 2026 through December 31, 2026. Pledges and gifts made by the this deadline count toward class participation.
