Established in 1907 in Seattle, Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart is an independent Catholic school for girls in grades 5-12.

Grounded in more than 200 years of Sacred Heart educational excellence, Forest Ridge educates young women to think critically, embrace challenges, model resilience, confront injustice, seek equality and lead globally in the pioneering spirit of our foundress St. Madeleine Sophie Barat.

Our graduates change the world.
Our vision is uncompromising excellence in educating girls in the Sacred Heart tradition.

Women Who Can

Krysta Svore ’97 designs software for a computer that doesn’t yet exist. She manages a team of computer scientists and theoretical physicists who are leading the charge into the future of computers. What does this future look like? Krysta believes that quantum computing will be revolutionary. She is a Woman Who Can. Can you?

She has sisters

The 5th Grader’s heart beats fast. It’s her first day at Forest Ridge. She isn’t sure if she feels excitement or apprehension. Her friends stayed on Mercer Island for school. But she’s never been one to follow the herd. An only child, her Dad likes to say God ‘broke the mold’ when she was born. Laughing herself to tears with her new classmates during lunch, she looks at the faces around the table — Sarah from Medina, Megan from Issaquah, and Hina from Seattle. She smiles, certain of two things. First, she is excited (not scared). Second, she’s not an only child anymore. Suddenly, she has sisters.

We know how girls learn

The world turns better if all girls are empowered to live lives of purpose, action, commitment and influence. Knowing and believing this, our Center for Girls aspires to offer transformative opportunities for girls to learn and practice the critical skills and mindset to ensure such outcomes. The high school donated 61 gift cards and raised $574.25 from bake sales. The Frosh/SR bake sale raised $261.39 and the Soph/JR sale raised $294.75.
