Overview of the Matteo Ricci College Program
For over 30 years, Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart has partnered with Seattle University as part of the Matteo Ricci College Consortium.
The Matteo Ricci College Program (with IB course options) features the Global Seminar Humanities courses beginning in the junior year. Students in the Matteo Ricci College Program at Forest Ridge begin with a Pre-Global Seminar course of study in the junior year and engage in three integrated Global Seminar courses in the senior year. Students in this program take Pre-Global Seminar English and History courses in the junior year and Global Seminar English, History, and Theology in the senior year. Given the close alignment of curriculum the Pre-Global Seminar History course is taught concurrently with IB History SL year one in the junior year.
Students in the Matteo Ricci College Program may choose to take one (or more) IB courses in the other subject areas: international language, mathematics, science, fine arts, and / or business.
In the senior year, students may be eligible to purchase up to 10 college credits through Seattle University with sufficient grade average in their Matteo Ricci College Program courses.
