Rooted in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education, and informed by the research of the Association for Middle Level Education, our program seeks to educate inclusive, ethical, innovative, globally-minded leaders who seek justice through service to others. Global perspective, commitment to community and service, leadership, a growth mindset, ethical values, and a sense of personal faith are desired results of the program. In promoting the development of the whole person, the program addresses the unique needs of the early-adolescent girl.
The middle-school program encourages students to be life-long learners and problem-solvers. Through direct instruction and practice with skills of collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking, students develop essential 21st century skills. Forest Ridge students use their gifts with the talents of others to create positive solutions to problems. Middle-school faculty strive to develop a growth mindset in their students, encouraging them to embrace challenge, to persist in the face of setback, and to use feedback as a means toward progress. Consistent opportunities for reflection allow students to grow in their awareness of their personal strengths, weaknesses, values, and goals.
