SHE LEAVES ACTS
When she visits her Mom’s office downtown, she notices more and more people in need
holding the hands of children. Sometimes they stand in the rain as she drives past. She
decides to build an ‘after-afterschool’ program for young girls who live in shelters and
whose parents can only find work on late shifts. She will recruit student tutors from among classmates and other high schools. She will leverage Forest Ridge alumnae to persuade businesses to donate space. Though just a teenager, she is determined to ‘leave acts, not words’. Saint Madeleine Sophie would expect nothing less of a woman of the Sacred Heart.
