Dance

At Forest Ridge, students can dance for credit or just for fun. In the High School, students can dance for fitness in Zumba, explore the classic genres of jazz, tap and musical theater, or study the popular, yet contrasting genres of ballet and hip hop.

Outside of class, students can challenge themselves by participating with classmates in Dance Company. Dance Company is a once-a-year celebration of dance choreographed and performed by our students. Everything from hip hop to traditional Chinese Fan dances take the stage and light up the evening. Students can apply to choreograph a piece or audition to perform for their peer choreographers.

Chamber Choir

The Chamber Choir is a yearlong select, auditioned choir that meets three days a week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, during zero hour and approximately once a month after school or on a Saturday. Chamber Choir is a musical ambassador for the School which performs outside of school and tours every other year. Choir members will have an advanced sense of pitch and musicality, learn advanced choral repertoire fairly independently, and commit to our rehearsal and performance schedule.

Handbells

Through handbell classes, students enjoy working as a team to prepare music in a variety of different styles (classical, rock, and more) while learning basic music reading skills. Students perform for on-campus events such as liturgies and school assemblies, and also perform regularly off-campus at venues such as St. James Cathedral and Bellevue Square Mall. More advanced students also have the opportunity to try their hand at conducting, composing, and concert planning.

Theater

Our no-cut Theater program offers all students training to prepare them for the world’s stage. We believe in the cohesive effect that the Arts can have on a school community and we put that into practice through projects that promote unity and synergy.

We showcase four main projects each year: A Play, One Acts Festival; Winter Workshop; Artist In Residency or Dance Company; and a Musical.
