Forest Ridge Theater

Grades: 4,5,6,7,8
Session: Two
Class Period: Morning
Tuition:  $200

Forest Ridge Summer Drama is a student-centered experience focused on working together to hone basic acting skills, create characters, cultivate creativity, and improve confidence, all while experiencing the vital art of collaboration.  This high-energy class will act as a springboard for students who know they love the theater! Throughout the week r, we will focus on becoming an ensemble through dynamic and challenging games and exercises. Simultaneously we will work with a script, rehearse our skit, and perform it for our friends, family, and community.  Expectations: mandatory memorization, regular attendance, 20 -30 min a night of homework. All levels are welcome!

Nature's Naturalists

Grades: 2, 3, 4, 5
Session: Two
Class Period: Morning
Tuition:  $200

Come explore and enjoy the wonders of the woodlands! As naturalists-in-training, we’ll explore the woods at Forest Ridge, the trails and parks surrounding campus, and the forest beyond. We’ll split our time between hands-on activities on campus and trips to the nearby Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Area. Experienced nature adventurers and those just starting to explore are all welcome!

Engineering Design

Grades: 3,4,5,6
Session:Two
Class Period: Morning
Tuition: $200

Engineers solve problems. In Engineering Design, students will work together to solve creative design challenges, build structures, and create beautiful, functional products. The Innovation and Fabrication Shop at Forest Ridge will give your engineer access to high- and low-tech tools that allow them to ask big questions, imagine and plan solutions, and create and improve products.  

Keychains and Beadwork

Grades: 2,3,4,5,6,7,8
Session: Two
Class Period: Morning
Tuition:  $200

Take your accessory game to the next level with our jewelry design, beadwork and keychain class! Boys and girls will make simple projects, like shrinky-dinks, beading, string art, key chains, and fun fusion beads. Students will create necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings, and anything else they can dream up!

Video Production

Grades: 5,6,7,8
Session: Two
Class Period: Afternoon
Tuition: $200

This class is focused on hands-on collaborative exploration of the film-making process.  After a quick mastery of proper camera and tripod use, students will gain a basic understanding of frame composition, practice various types of filming shots, and learn some framing “tricks of the trade.” Students also will learn how to create storyboards to plan and film their original ideas.  Much of the class time will be devoted to small group work filming and editing these projects.  Students will use Adobe Premiere editing software to practice capturing and cutting footage, using layers of film and audio tracks, adding transitions and credits, and exporting the final productions.

Imagination Station: Arts & Crafts

Grades: 2,3,4,5,6,7,8
Session: Two
Class Period: Afternoon
Tuition: $200

Is your favorite part of camp the arts and crafts? If so, then this class is for you! In Camp Crafts students are encouraged to let their creative sides go wild as they explore some of camps most beloved crafting traditions. Tie-dying t-shirts, personalizing bandanas and pillowcases, papier mache, fabric painting, clay mobiles, painting, origami are just a few of the many fun projects that you may take on.

Gross Out

Join Mad Science as we examine our amazing, interesting and sometimes gross bodily functions! We’re talking burping, boogers, saliva and germs… And the contributions our cells, tissue and organs provide to create these lovely bodily byproducts. We’ll produce “exploding toothpaste”, create a squishy brain we can play with, and harvest a cup full of mucus to take home and share.
