Women As Global Leaders

A Forest Ridge Woman is a Leader

Global education at Forest Ridge is integrated in the curriculum from grades 5 through 12. Courses weave global citizenship, awareness of international issues, diversity, and inclusion into all subject areas. We focus on the heart of female leadership development through immersion in international issues, such as peace-making in the Middle East, diplomacy abroad, and stewardship of natural resources. Our ethnically and religiously diverse student body at Forest Ridge promotes cultural literacy, and is a key component in preparing young women for their roles as global citizens with an appreciation of the inherent benefits of cultural, linguistic and religious diversity.

New Initiatives

As part of our school’s ongoing effort to bring innovative and experiential programming to campus we are thrilled to introduce our Artistic Director initiative. The role of the Artistic Director is to guide and inform programming and academic conversation in specific areas for a period of an academic year.

To kick off our new initiative we have contracted with Chanel Summers, artist, musician and Sound Designer. Together with Women as Global Leaders and faculty in both the high school and the middle school, Chanel will be instrumental in helping us reframe the way we think about technology in problem solving, as well as the role of design narrative in innovative solutions to today’s real world challenges.

Chanel Summers was one of our first TEDx speakers and has taught summer courses in Audio Design here on campus. She works with students through our World Building Workshops. To learn more about Chanel, please click HERE for her bio or visit these sites:
