Sacred Heart
Founded by St. Madeleine Sophie Barat
"Over 200 years ago, St. Madeleine Sophie Barat believed in empowering girls through a solid academic foundation, a strong voice, and a sense of purpose. She founded the Society of the Sacred Heart to educate young women in France. Over the years, the Society expanded globally, and Forest Ridge continues to drive this mission in the Seattle area, making a lasting impact on the world—one student at a time.
Fostered by a Global Community
Today, there are 150 Sacred Heart schools in 41 countries worldwide. The Sacred Heart Network of schools share a dedication to our guiding principles and belief in the transformative power inside every girl. Through exchange programs and global connections, our students have the opportunity to engage with peers around the world. We're proud to represent this network in the Seattle area - as a top private all-girls school in Washington State, and in the region.
Enriched by Faith Diversity
At Forest Ridge, our community is enriched by students who represent a wide array of world religions. As a Sacred Heart school, we are dedicated to fostering a personal and active faith in God, while nurturing a profound respect for the diverse religious traditions across the globe. We believe that this faith diversity enhances and strengthens our community. It is with great pride that we welcome students not only from the Seattle area and Western Washington, but from across the country and around the world, creating a vibrant, inclusive environment for all.
