Upper School Summer Experience classes serve those students entering grades 7-12.

Digital Storytelling: Video, VR and Animation

Date and Time: July 8-12, Afternoon (12:00-3:00)
Student Age: Entering Grades 7-12
 
Use compelling, emotionally engaging, and interactive technologies to tell your stories. With tools like digital cameras, stop motion and computer animation, and virtual and augmented reality, you can bring your stories to life! No experience is necessary but an interest in storytelling and working with computers is a must.

Science, Cooking and Nutrition

Date and Time: July 22-26, Afternoon (12:00-3:00)
Student Age: Entering grades 7-12
 
In this hands-on science class, we’ll study the fundamental biological, chemical, and physical scientific principles of food while cooking delicious and nutritious recipes. Each day we’ll create a dish and explore the chemical reactions taking place within the foods as well as the nutrients they provide for our bodies. Examples of topics include: elasticity of bread dough, the chemistry of ice cream, and creating a healthy brownie. The fee includes ingredients.

Dance Intensive

Date and Time: July 29-August 2, All day (9:00-2:00)
Student Age: Entering grades 7-12
 
This one-week Intensive is perfect for the student who has a full summer but wants to include a bit of the Artist Life! Come dance, grow, laugh, sweat your way through a challenging week with classes including, but not limited to: Hip Hop, Turns and Progressions, Musical Theater Dance, Ballet, and more! This intensive is focused on physical confidence and experiential training.

Girls Who Code: Website Design and Development

Date and Time: August 12-23, 9:00-4:00
Student Age: Girls ages 13-18
 
Join Girls Who Code, a national leader in closing the gender gap in technology, for a two-week intensive learning experience. In this course, girls learn the fundamentals of website development with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In week one, girls launch a personal website portfolio and work together on projects designed to teach essential programming concepts like variables, conditionals, and functions in JavaScript. Girls can also learn and apply visual design principles to build beautiful websites and web applications. In week two, girls work in teams to design, build, and present an interactive website about a topic that matters to them. Additional topics covered: JS DOM, APIs, debugging, project management, bravery, and resilience. No prior experience needed.

Girl Boss Sports Soccer Camp

Date and Time: August 12-16, 9:00-4:00
Student Age: Girls entering grades 5-12
 
The Girl Boss Sports Soccer Camp is designed for the 5th - 12th grade female soccer player in your life who is ready to take her game to the next level. Campers will learn different (age and developmentally appropriate) technical skills each day with an additional focus on soccer-specific body movements and developing the mentality to be successful as a female athlete both on AND off soccer field. The camp is entirely led by female soccer coaches who can become dynamic role-models for your daughter and help her learn to "play like a girl." Drop-off is between 8:30-9:00 and pick-up time is 4:00.
